![]() Make way for more than 100 of the most awesome animals everfrom the aardvark to the zebra. Welcome to Zoo Tycoon 2: Ultimate Collection! It's the Ultimate! For the first time ever, all the animals and all the thrills of Zoo Tycoon 2 and its four fun-filled expansion packsExtinct Animals, Marine Mania, Endangered Species, and African Adventureare combined into one most excellent zoo. Pre-Owned/Used: Very Good Condition copies available Once most of the bugs get ironed out it should be really good though.Other versions of this game available from us: ![]() Right now it's still quite buggy and that has dampened my enjoyment of it. However, you don't have to buy into it right away since it was a bit rushed out for the release date. Overall, I'd say Planet Zoo is a decent improvement over ZT2. More polished and arguably better balanced (also might change over time).Much less buggy (might change over time, but currently Planet Zoo is quite buggy).More animals due to all of the expansion packs.Much less resource hungry which results in the ability to build bigger parks before the game stutters to hell.Gets regular updates and will likely get plenty of new content in the future.Multiplayer aspects like trading with other players.More detailed construction and detailing.Basically, it's better than ZT2 if you can look past the bugs (or hope they get patched out over time) and have a decently powerful computer with a good CPU. However, it's performance optimization is pretty bad and in this state it is quite buggy. Planet Zoo is a lot like ZT2, but better in most ways. It makes me wonder if this is something intentional or if making $$ currency a main focus along with the necessary UI improvements would uncover some hand waiving on the part of the simulation with respect to how $$ is generated.Ĭertainly the lack of focus on making money allows for greater creativity in terms of what players can create in game without submitting to tricks like save-scumming, but I wonder if this is the reason or if it's a convenient effect of a soft $$ simulation. But I get the idea behind it and I hope it gets tweaked in a better way.Īnd it's interesting that Frontier never really puts a lot of focus on the $$ side in either this game or Planet Coaster. It's the kind of thing EA would tack a microtransaction onto. In all honesty, the CC economy feels like something out of a mobile game at its core. I'm of a mixed mind on whether that's a good thing or a bad thing. The $$ currency isn't what applies pressure on the player, it's the conservation credits. Totally right! That's kind of what I was getting at too. Does that cost PZ points on the fun factor side? Is it worth paying more than double what I paid for Zoo Tycoon 2 and all the expansion packs in ZT2UC? Your comments and feedback are greatly appreciated ~ Thanks, Silva But I hear it's sort of hardcore and difficult to get into. Before I plunk down the $45 (or $55 for Deluxe) to play Planet Zoo on Steam, can anyone if Planet Zoo is really worth more than twice what I paid for ZT2? I know the graphics are better (that's a given). I know the new Planet Zoo is shiny and new and all - but it's also much more expensive. It's been like finding an old friend that you meet up with again after being apart for many years. I've enjoyed this game forever - and was delighted when I could download a version that was compatible with Windows 10. ![]() (It's still available if anyone is interested): Last year, I purchased Zoo Tycoon 2 Ultimate Collection as a download from Amazon for $20.
